Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has unveiled “Salama,” an advanced AI-powered platform designed to revolutionize the visa renewal process for residents. Launched on February 24, 2025, during the fourth annual media forum at GDRFA’s Al Jafiliya headquarters, Salama enables residents to renew their visas in under two minutes, significantly reducing paperwork and wait times.
Introduction of a more Streamlined Visa Renewal Process
In order to use Salama i.e. the new AI, UAE Residents can access the platform through the GDRFA Dubai website. Upon logging in, the AI system automatically recognizes user details, displays the visa status of dependents, and highlights the remaining days before expiration.
The Renewal Process is condensed into three straightforward steps:
- Selecting the desired visa duration
- Completing the payment
- Downloading the updated residence permit directly from the platform.
